English Teachers required for Manchester secondary School

English teachers required on a full and part time basis in OFSTED Good secondary school from Easter 2018.

  • Full time English Teacher
  • Part time English Teacher with flexible working hours
  • Easter 2018 until the summer initially
  • English teaching across KS3 and GCSE (KS4)
  • Good Secondary School in the Manchester area

Due to a Maternity leave and additional support within the English department, 2 exciting opportunities have become available for English teachers at this OFSTED graded Good secondary school, just south of the city centre. The incoming teachers will be expected to deliver the English curriculum across the ability range from KS3 to GCSE for the duration of the contract.

The school have a couple of open vacancies, one on a full time basis and one part time with flexible working conditions. The English department has high hopes, standards and expectations for the incoming English Teachers and would fully be able to support the teachers through the duration of the roles. "Progress in English has improved dramatically over recent years and we are particularly proud of our progress as it is outstanding for many students." (Head of English)

This secondary school has roughly 800 pupils on roll and is smaller than the average secondary school. The number of pupils who have SEN and/or disabilities supported by the school is above the national average but the number of EAL pupils is significantly lower than the national average. Located on the outskirts of central Manchester, the School is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Manchester, Trafford and Stockport.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
