At KS3, students will read a variety of texts from the literary canon to develop their knowledge of literature as a whole. This is supplemented through reading for pleasure time during literacy. Above all else, we want to create a positive and enthusiastic climate for reading at our school and so developing literacy is a large part of our offering here. We use selected non-fiction texts and media to support lessons and to develop reading skills across a range of different materials. Students will also have the opportunity to write creatively and accurately through our schemes of work and expressive writing course." Head of English.
