Teaching Personnel are working closely with a Wokingham School over this tricky time to support them in their recruitment for September. The School are seeking a new full time English Teacher to join their department. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

English Teacher 

The following are some of qualities and qualifications Teaching Personnel will be looking for in the successful applicant: 

Professional Qualification

- Qualified teacher status 

- Good English degree 

Training relevant to the role 

- Experience of teaching at Key Stages 3, 4. This would include both English Language and English Literature

Experience 

- Experience of working within a team including designing and developing resources 

- Experience of working with other teachers and support professionals to extend their understanding of educational issues 

- Experience of preparing and leading training sessions is desirable 

- Experience of involvement in extra-curricular activities is desirable 

Knowledge and Understanding 

- Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum for English at KS3 and of the requirements of GCSE at KS4.

-Excellent understanding of the assessment processes at KS3, 4 and how to use these to support planning and raise student achievement 

- Excellent knowledge of a wide range of pedagogic approaches to cater for different learning styles and ensure that all students are engaged. 

- Excellent understanding of what constitutes effective teaching for learning  

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of strategies for promoting good relationships with students and effective behaviour management techniques
