Due to a gap within the English faculty this smaller than average Secondary school based in Eastbourne are now looking to expand within the department. The role is initially temporary with the view to progress on to a long term fixed position.

The school is situated within reach of public transport links and is performing well. The school has been graded “good” from the most recent ofsted visitation.

  • Temporary full time English Teacher Position to begin from February 2019 with the potential to progress on to a fixed long term position
  • Must hold QTS - Both experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply
  • Opportunity to Progress through the support of department staff and senior leadership
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS
  • Must have experience teaching English Literature and English Language up to KS4

The duties for the incoming English teacher will include but not be limited to:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver dynamic English lessons across Key Stage 3-4.
  • Maintain positive behaviour in the classroom using behaviour management strategies to ensure pupils are engaged, in accordance to policies in place at school
  • Monitor, assess and evaluate pupil achievement taking appropriate action
  • Want to be a part of a dedicated and passionate English department

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
