A co-educational secondary school (11-16) requires an English teacher to start with them in September at the start of the academic year. This is a short term placement for a half term in the first instance due to the end of a maternity leave. The successful teacher of English will be teaching KS3 primarily with a small section of the timetable supporting KS4.

This is an important time of the year for KS3, as the new cohort of year 7s embark on their school life with this vibrant and thriving school. There will be a period of time whereby they complete their CATs (cognitive ability tests) and the appointed English teacher will be working closely with the department on assessing these students.

Highlights of this English teaching position:

  • Pay ranging between £100 - £170 per day depending on experience and payscale
  • Full time English teaching position; temporary for the first half term
  • KS3 teaching in the main; supporting English department and head of department
  • Secondary school situated in the Tameside area
  • Applications encouraged from teachers of all experiences: NQTs - fully qualified

The school are looking for a motivated English teacher that can hit the ground running given the nature of the post but are more than happy to accept applications from NQTs or more experienced teachers.

The school is located in the Tameside area, making it very easy to access from the local areas of Stalybridge, Dukinfield, Hyde, Ashton-Under-Lyne and Denton. For those English teachers travelling via public transport; there is a local train station well serviced from the city centre aswell as local buses travelling to the school. For those travelling with their own vehicle, the school has an onsite car park and is easily accessible via the M60 or M67 motorway network.
