Teaching Personnel are currently working with a thriving 11-16 school in the Dorchester area who are looking to recruit a talented and effective teacher who is passionate about teaching English Language and English Literature.
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic English teacher to join an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school on a full or part-time basis from January 2024. The role will include teaching English across key stage 3 and 4. Successful educators will also be taking on full departmental responsibilities, including lesson planning and marking.
As well as being an excellent subject teacher, the successful applicant will be well-read, able to articulate their passion for the subject and eager to contribute to the extracurricular work of the department and wider life of the academy.
English is a thriving and successful subject area, and the successful candidate will play an important role in helping to move English into its next stage of development
The successful candidate will have:
- Confidence, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching
- Experience of delivering English Literature and/or English Language GCSE
- A knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and know how to use and adapt them to motivate students
- Excellent subject knowledge
- Suitable school-based references
- Have and up to date DBS with the Update Service/be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS
- A willingness to undertake CPD and contribute to the wider school life
- Be educated to degree level
- Hold QTS (or an equivalent qualification)
