Exciting opportunity for an English Teacher seeking a new opportunity from September 2020!
Teaching Personnel are working with a Alternative School in the St Austell area, seeking an English Teacher to join their team from September 2020.
The school is an Alternative Provision - catering for Secondary aged pupils who do not cope in a mainstream setting. Many of the pupils can display challenging behaviour, but many will also have additional needs such as SEMH (Social, emotional and mental health needs), Autism, ADHD, Anxiety and Medical needs. Many of the pupils are disengaged with education, so we are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic teacher who is able to engage the pupils their English lessons. You will be joining a small department and will have the freedom to develop schemes of work suitable for your class.
This is a full time teaching role, with time allocated for PPA. This is a temporary role for the Autumn Term, however has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status in the UK (NQT's and comparable Overseas teacher training will be considered)
- Experience teaching English Literature and English Language up to GCSE Level
- Understanding of Functional Skills curriculum (not all pupils will be accessing GCSE levels)
- Resilience and Confidence dealing with challenging behaviour
- The ability to differentiate learning to pupils with additional needs
This is a rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to pupils lives and education, as well as developing your own skills as the school offers ongoing CPD training for their staff.
