English Teachers – Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

Part-time and flexible hours available | £25–£30 per hour | 1:1 and small-group tuition

TP Tutors is looking for passionate and committed English Teachers to provide tailored support for learners in Mansfield and the wider Nottinghamshire area. This role is ideal for teachers who want to make a real impact outside the classroom, helping students to build confidence and develop essential literacy skills.

About the Role

You will deliver personalised tuition to learners who require extra support in English, either one-to-one or in small groups. Lessons may take place in students’ homes or community venues, giving you the flexibility to adapt your teaching to suit individual learning styles.

Key Duties

  • Teach English across reading, writing, comprehension, and communication

  • Break down challenging topics to build learner confidence

  • Adapt sessions for students with different abilities and needs

  • Provide constructive feedback to track progress

  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum (KS2–KS4, ideally GCSE)

  • Teaching experience, including work with SEND and/or SEMH learners

  • Excellent planning and communication skills

  • Patience, empathy, and flexibility

  • Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

  • Up-to-date safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
