Location: Kettering

Salary: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Term time only)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (may vary by up to 45 minutes)

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, inclusive school in Kettering. In this role, you’ll support children with a range of special educational needs, both in and outside of the classroom, helping to create a positive and supportive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Assist during lessons, break times, and lunch

  • Support the class teacher with day-to-day activities

  • Help maintain a safe and organised classroom

  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere for all pupils


Who We’re Looking For

Experience in a school setting is not essential – we welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are enthusiastic about working with children.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience with SEN children (preferred, not essential)

  • Be patient, reliable, and committed

  • Show initiative and a proactive approach

  • Have (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

  • Hold permanent UK residency (essential)

Safer Recruitment

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (can be arranged through Teaching Personnel)

  • Two most recent professional references (covering the last 24 months)

  • Overseas Police Check (if applicable, for candidates who’ve lived abroad for 6+ months in the past 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
