Position: English Secondary Teacher

Location: Carmarthenshire

Pay: From GBP127.72 a day (depending on experience)

To commence: 1st September 2020

 

The role

Teaching personnel are currently looking for a fluent welsh speaking English teacher to join one of our thriving and vibrant Secondary Schools in Carmarthenshire. (The comprehensive school is a Professional Learning Pioneer school, and is working closely with other schools in order to realise the recommendations in Successful Futures to plan and implement a new curriculum for Wales).

The successful candidate will ideally be confident in teaching up to GCSE level, however, there is scope to adapt the timetable to teaching KS3 only depending on the candidate and their experience. The role will include full teaching duties and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be working with a range of dedicated subject practitioners who will be able to offer you a range of support and guidance throughout the role. The role will be up until half term initially; there is an opportunity for the role to be extended also. 

Requirements for this role

  • PGCE Qualification
  • English degree qualification
  • DBS Check (Assistance will be provided)
  • EWC registration (Assistance will be provided)
  • The ability to work full time will be required for this role
  • The ability to communicate through the medium of welsh is essential for this role.

The school

The welsh medium school is a comprehensive school that provides education for pupils

from 11-18 years old, in Carmarthenshire local authority.  There are over 1,000 pupils on roll, with over 170 of those pupils in the sixth form. Around 40% of pupils come from

English-speaking homes, but all pupils are able to speak Welsh to first language

standard.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
