Job description

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in central Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join its successful English department from September. The school has a strong academic ethos balanced with creativity and inclusivity, making it an ideal environment for an English specialist looking to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' confidence and analytical skills

  • Promote a love of reading and writing through innovative classroom strategies

  • Track student progress and provide targeted intervention and feedback

  • Contribute to whole-school literacy initiatives

The School Offers:

  • A supportive SLT who actively encourage professional development

  • Opportunities to lead or support extracurricular clubs (book clubs, creative writing, etc.)

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS (or equivalent) with a specialism in English

  • Experience teaching at secondary level (KS3/KS4)

  • Passion for literature and language

  • Strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills

  • A proactive and creative approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
