Could you work in an Oftsed graded ‘Good’ secondary school located in Wigan that supports graduates and their future in teaching?
- Full-time English graduate teaching assistant role
- Must hold a degree in English Language or Literature
- Excellent experience prior to your teaching qualification
- Good rates of pay with earning up to GBP300 per week.
- Position starting in September.
Our school is looking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant who is confident, outgoing and able to deliver English support to KS3 & 4 learners. You may be required to work with full classes, so prior experience would be ideal, but not essential. You will be based in the schools library and will provide support to the schools English teaching faculty.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate exceptional subject knowledge and be willing to pass this onto the students within the school. The role will require you to work with students in group and 1:1 settings, providing reading and writing support sessions.
For graduates that wish to pursue a career in teaching, their will be unqualified teaching opportunities available. This will be fully supported from the Head of the English department and other experienced members of the schools teaching staff.
The desired outcome of the school is to raise the attainment and understanding of both English Literature and Language for identified students.
Our client Secondary school is smaller than the average Secondary school and currently has 800 pupils on roll. The school is based on the outskirts of Wigan and is just minutes away from the A580. There are an abundance of transport links in and out of Wigan and the school can be easily accessed from surrounding areas. Students within the school build good relationships with their pupils and have a good attitude to learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
