English Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit an English Graduate for one of our key partner secondary schools that is located in Derby.

This secondary school seek to appoint an English Graduate for a full-time position where the incoming member of staff will be required to work closely with the schools English Department to ensure that lessons operate smoothly and that students within the school receive an excellent level of education.

The Position:

• Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant and 1:1 Support responsibilities
• Full-time role starting in January 2020
• Competitive pay rates with earning potential of up to GBP325 per week
• Excellent opportunity to gain experience within a supportive secondary school

This exciting position is available for someone who now wishes to gain further experience within a secondary school environment ahead of completing a teacher training course in the future.

The successful English Graduate will ideally be employed from January 2020 on a temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year. Training and CPD opportunities will be provided by Teaching Personnel and the school.

The Head of English seeks to appoint an English Graduate in order to support the schools English department, alleviating pressures from teaching staff and raising attainment. In return the Head of English will be committed to the development of the successful staff member and supporting them in their ambition of teaching.

Responsibilities that this position will include:

• General Teaching Assistant duties – Supporting the main class teacher ensuring lessons operate smoothly
• Providing lesson cover where a teacher is absent – This will be fully supported by the school
• Delivering tuition sessions to students on a 1:1 and group basis

The incoming member of staff will be joining a school that currently caters for around 650 pupils, much smaller when compared to other schools in the area. The majority of these students come from a white British background.
