Start Your Teaching Career in September 2026 – Early Career Teacher Roles Available
Are you about to qualify as a teacher and looking for the right start to your career? Want to gain hands-on experience in different schools before committing to a permanent role?
Teaching Personnel is working with secondary schools across County Durham and the North East to place Early Career Teachers in a variety of teaching roles starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent chance for new teachers to build classroom experience across a range of school environments. You can choose from flexible daily supply work, short-term assignments, or longer-term placements depending on your goals.
Working in different schools allows you to refine your teaching approach, develop confidence, and identify the setting that suits you best.
As an Early Career Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Create a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Maintain strong behaviour management standards
- Track and assess student progress
- Collaborate with teaching staff and school leadership teams
Who We’re Looking For:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve it
- Have a degree or recognised teaching qualification
- Be committed to supporting student learning and development
- Demonstrate effective communication and classroom management skills
- Be adaptable and open to working in different school settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
