Early Years Practitioner (Qualified)
Early Years Professionals play a key role in delivering outstanding education and care within a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. You will help create a setting where children feel secure, valued, and confident to explore, learn, and develop, while ensuring families feel reassured and supported.
Working in line with nursery policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, you will contribute to high-quality practice and strong inspection outcomes. The role also supports the ongoing success and positive reputation of the nursery through effective communication with families, the local community, and a commitment to excellent customer care.
Qualified Early Years Professionals will also take on a named coordinator role aligned with their skills and experience, as allocated by the Nursery Manager.
Key Responsibilities

Follow all nursery operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Promote and uphold the nursery’s values and professional standards at all times

Model and support high-quality, inspirational practice across the setting

Respond professionally to verbal and written complaints, ensuring concerns are recorded, escalated appropriately, and followed up

Support Head Office visits, audits, and inspections

Maintain staff-to-child ratios in line with policies, rotas, and statutory requirements

Ensure room registers and daily attendance records are accurate and up to date
-
Comply with health and safety procedures, including completing risk assessments, hazard logs, and relevant documentation

Take part in emergency and security procedures, including evacuations, door security, and e-safety protocols

Remain vigilant regarding safeguarding, prioritising the welfare of children and adults and reporting concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, completing all required records

Administer first aid and medication in line with policy, keeping the Nursery Manager informed of any actions taken

Attend and contribute to staff meetings, supporting continuous improvement and high standards of practice

Support the induction, mentoring, and ongoing guidance of students and new staff

Contribute to safer recruitment processes, including providing feedback following trial shifts

Develop a strong understanding of key children’s backgrounds, developmental stages, and next steps, with support from line management

Work collaboratively with colleagues on observation, assessment, and planning to create a stimulating learning environment that balances child-led and adult-led experiences

Maintain accurate, meaningful learning records for key children and actively involve families in planning and sharing progress

Support children and families through the settling-in process, completing required documentation and working closely with parents and colleagues to reflect children’s home lives and interests

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
