Early Years Professional (Qualified)
Early Years Professionals play a vital role in delivering high-quality education and care within a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment. You will create a setting where children feel secure, valued, and supported to thrive, and where families feel confident in the care provided.
You will work in line with the nurseries policies and procedures, meeting all legislative and curriculum requirements to ensure the highest standards of practice and inspection outcomes. The role also supports the continued success and reputation of the nursery through positive engagement with families, the local community, and excellent customer care.
A qualified Early Years Professional will also act as a named coordinator aligned to their skills and training, as designated by the Nursery Manager.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure all Nursery operational policies and procedures are followed, meeting relevant legislative requirements.

Uphold and promote the Nurseries brand and values.

Support and model inspiring, ambitious, and high-quality practice.

Respond professionally to verbal and written complaints, recording and escalating concerns appropriately and supporting any required actions.

Support Head Office visits and inspections.

Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios in line with policies and rotas.

Ensure daily room registers and attendance records are accurate and up to date.

Adhere to health and safety policies, completing risk assessments, hazard logs, and required documentation.

Participate in emergency and security procedures, including evacuations, door security, and e-safety.

Remain vigilant regarding safeguarding, ensuring the welfare of children and adults is paramount and reporting concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, completing all relevant documentation.

Administer first aid and medication as required and keep the Nursery Manager informed of any actions taken.

Actively participate in staff meetings to support continuous improvement and high standards of practice.

Support the induction, mentoring, and guidance of students.

Contribute to safer recruitment processes, including providing feedback following trial shifts.

Develop an in-depth understanding of key children’s backgrounds, development stages, and next steps, with support from line management.

Work collaboratively with colleagues on observation, assessment, and planning to create a stimulating environment that balances child-led and adult-led activities.

Maintain accurate and meaningful developmental records for key children, involving families in planning and sharing progress.

Support the settling-in process for new children sensitively, completing all documentation and working closely with families and staff to reflect children’s home lives and interests.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
