EAL teaching assistant

One of our client secondary schools located in Burnage currently looking to appoint an EAL teaching assistant. 

You will be providing 1:1 and small group support to a number of students across the school who have been outlined by the EAL Co-ordinator and Head of English.

These students generally are first- or second-generation immigrants in which English isn’t their first language and it’s not spoken within the home, to avoid them falling behind in their studies across all areas the school are seeking an experienced EAL TA to help fast track their written and oral English skills.

The main languages spoken in school include:

  • Arabic
  • Urdu
  • Polish
  • Romanian

This school are looking for a bilingual or experienced EAL teaching assistant with a genuine passion for teaching. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and behavioural management skills as some students can exhibit challenging behaviour at times.

  • Pay between GBP1200-GBP1350 per month depending on experience
  • Opportunity for a permanent position in a large secondary school
  • Start date to be determined (depending on when schools re open)

Any successful applicant would be subject to DBS and Right to work UK checks so relevant documents will be requested.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
