Design & Technology Specialists Required at Hackney Secondary School after October half term

  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Full time role, with a view of going permanent at end of the academic year
  • Applications welcome from FQTs or NQTs

A secondary school situated in Hackney and close to Hoxton Station is seeking to appoint two Design & Technology specialists who hold UK Qualified Teacher Status to join the school on a full time basis starting after the October half term. The roles are both maternity covers and will last until the end of the academic year, but the posts could become permanent for the right candidates.

The role is full time, with full PPA entitlement. You will be required to teach up to GCSE level, but experience of teaching A Level students is desirable.

The School was adjudged to be ‘good’ by OFSTED (2013) overall, and benefits from the ‘outstanding’ leadership from its Head Teacher and the excellent standards of teaching and learning across all subject areas (the DT Department achieved 87% A*-C in recent GCSE results).

The school is looking for qualified DT teachers who specialise in either Food Technology or Resistant Materials. Strong experience of teaching in other areas of DT is desirable, as it means the school can support all areas of their large department.

The right type of candidate for either role must have been rated as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ in previous internal/OFSTED/PGCE inspections, and have a proven track record of consistently achieving a high pass rate for GCSE pupils in the subject.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a very well-resourced and supportive department at a school that offers great guidance and coaching to both NQTs and FQTs to further progress their careers.

If you are interested in applying for a role at this high achieving school, please email your up to date CV over to samuel.scott@teachingpersonnel.com and call 0207 593 3073.
