Full-time Design and Technology (DT) teacher required for a large mixed comprehensive secondary school situated in the Poole area. This position is due to commence from September 2019, and will be available for twelve months due to a maternity leave within the department with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.

This position is open, due to flexibility and expansion of the department meaning the school are able to re-arrange lessons to suit the incoming Design and Technology teachers' specialist area.

  • Full-time Design and Technology teacher required from September 2019.
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status, and experience teaching specialist area to GCSE level.
  • Previous experience using machinery and organising practical lessons is essential.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23720 - £39406 per annum.

This large mixed comprehensive secondary school has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted consistently over the last few years and has since facilitated an environment for the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning amongst all staff.

The incoming Design and Technology teacher will be responsible for;

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.
  • Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
  • Support the pupils and class teacher in order to safely use equipment and resources.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements
  • Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.
