Our Specialist SEN Branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Curriculum & Learning Leader for an Alternative provision who work across the UK but more specifically in Newport & Caerphilly, South Wales. This is a full time role that has the likelihood to become permenant for the right candidate. ou will be working and overseeing the support and care within an alternative provision. Unqualified teachers are more than definitely considered and QTS is not essential. They are currently looking for a candidate who has a pastoral approach to managing challenging behaviour and emotional, behavioural difficulties.

Some of the beneficial qualities you need for this post are:

  • Experience in de-escalation & engagement
  • Pastoral aspects - Nurturing approach to dealing with children with challenging behaviour
  • Right fit personality.
  • Have your own transport
  • Experience in supporting children and young people with EBD & SEMH is beneficial but not essential
  • Good people skills.

This school has the scope to become one of the fastest growing provisions and has the expectation to be throughout South Wales over the next year or two. The successul candidate will need to be adaptable in their approach and use their initative when challenging situations arise. In addition to this, you will be overseeing the whole operation of the school day ensuring the staff within your provision are supported in every aspect of their day including discipline and re-engagement.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
