Cover Teacher

Location: BL4 (Bolton)
Start Date: ASAP / January
Contract: Full-time, Ongoing
Pay: £130–£160 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are working with a well-regarded secondary school in the BL4 area who are seeking a flexible and confident Cover Teacher to join their staff team. The school has a consistent need for general cover across KS3 and KS4 and are looking for someone who can step into various subjects and maintain strong classroom standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers, early career teachers, or strong cover supervisors looking to take on a more teaching-focused role.

The Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects

  • Maintain excellent behaviour management and ensure pupils remain engaged

  • Support students with classwork and provide guidance where needed

  • Work closely with subject leads and the cover manager for smooth daily operations

  • Adapt to different classes and year groups throughout the week

  • Contribute positively to the wider school environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS or strong classroom experience (cover supervisors considered)

  • Confident with behaviour management and leading a classroom

  • Adaptable, reliable, and comfortable teaching multiple subjects

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
