The Head teacher of a local secondary school in Newport is looking to appoint a cover supervisor to fill in for their absences and course cover. A cover supervisor role would be ideal for a graduate or someone who is considering being a teacher as this would give you the experience and confidence required to complete a PGCE.
The work for a cover supervisor will always be set so you won’t need to plan or mark any lesson work. It will mainly be behaviour management, ensuring the students are completing their work and answering any questions.
A graduate or someone degree educated would be suitable for this role, however experienced teaching assistants who are looking for their next step are also encouraged to apply.
The position as a cover supervisor is full time and is to start immediately. Previous experience of working in schools is not essential however it is desirable.
Pay is GBP60 to GBP70 per day.
