Cover Supervisors Required!

  • Competitive Rates of Pay
  • Free Continuous Professional Development
  • Short and Long Term Roles

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a number of Cover Supervisors to work in the Cardiff area. There are a variety of roles available including full time, part time, relief and supply. The roles are predominantly in secondary schools.

Duties include running the classroom in the absence of the teacher. All work will be set by a qualified teacher and you will be expected to hand out work, ensure pupils are on task and maintain acceptable levels of behaviour.

Candidates with transferable skills will be considered so if you don't have experience of working in the classroom, but have worked with children in some other capacity such as youth work, after school clubs, tutoring, social work, social care, activity clubs or anything similar you may be suitable.

Many of the schools we work with do have pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or challenging behaviour so the ability to handle this is a suitable and professional manner is essential. We regularly provide training in this area.

We accept candidates with and without degree qualifications and this sort of work is the closest to teaching that you can be without the qualification. Therefore the experience is highly recommended for those interested in completing teacher training or a PGCE and looks fantastic on application forms.

We aim to place people in accordance with their subject specialisms, but you will gain experience working across the key stages and national curriculum.

The work available is very flexible and can, if required, fit in around other commitments such as study and part-time jobs.

If you are interested and would like to apply or would like further information please send your CV to Lewis.Ellis@teachingpersonnel.com or call Lewis on 02920 660276. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS certificate – full assistance provided.

In addition to these roles we are also looking for candidates for roles in Torfaen, Newport, Monmouthshire, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly.
