£60 - £100 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are experiencing an increasing demand for Cover Supervisors to cover for teachers in a number of High Schools in Central Northumberland on a day to day basis with schools looking to bring on full-time staff; both qualified and unqualified Teachers. If you are looking for work across the Northumberland region, there are a number of employment opportunities.

Initially, commencing from September you will be working as a cover supervisor within multiple departments in schools. You will be prioritised for your specialist subjects however, will be asked to cover other subjects as well. Behaviour within the schools is good and Ofsted have rated these schools as 'Good' and 'Outstanding'. This academic year we had a number of cover supervisors taken on a permanent contract by schools, which is a strong possibility for the new academic year.

You can also work as a 1:1 teaching assistant on occasion with pupils both in and outside of lessons. There is potential for full-time support assistant roles should this be something you prioritise over cover supervision.

The Role:

  • Cover day to day bookings when regular staff are absent due to illness or courses.
  • Covering general classroom lessons when required
  • 1:1 teaching assistant for pupils with behavioural disorders when required
  • The ability to engage all of the children involved in your lesson

Benefits for yourself:

  • Free access to courses contributing to your Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Competitive rates of pay - opportunity to earn between £55-75 per day and receive payments each week
  • For full-time members of staff, the school are willing to pay more than the usual daily rate
  • Highly desirable experience in a rewarding school environment with supportive staff
  • Potential for full-time placements
  • Teacher of the month awards

If you would like further information regarding the role or wish to apply, please contact Stuart Hawkins at Teaching Personnel on 0191 2235074.
