Cover Supervisor
Stockport

Do you have experience working with young adults? Are you looking to pursue a career in teaching?

Due to an increasing need for short term cover, Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor to join our client school. We are looking for someone who has a passion for supporting young people throughout their education and will ideally have experience working with young people in an educational setting.

The successful applicant will work as part of a large team of teachers and support staff involved in the delivery of differentiated learning. They will act as a cover supervisor for classes where there are short-term absences of timetabled teachers and may be required to help plan lessons and learning resources.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills & experience:

  • Successful recent experience of working with children of secondary school age.
  • Good general standard of education, especially with regards to numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to apply behaviour management policies and strategies, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
  • Must be able to use own initiative, work independently, motivate and inspire with a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure and have the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations.

Our client school is a hugely oversubscribed secondary school located in Stockport. With approximately just over 1500 pupils on roll, the school works tirelessly to ensure that all students achieve their full potential. The school was judged by Ofsted to be an Outstanding school in every category and continues to be highly reputable in the local area.

Located in the borough of Stockport, the school is easily accessible from the city centre of Manchester and is easily accessible from Cheshire and the Peak District.
