Job description

Cover Supervisor at a Secondary School in Winchester 

About the School: Join our dynamic team at a school in Winchester known for its high-achieving pupils and strong emphasis on personal development. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support our educational mission on a flexible basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classroom activities during the short-term absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work
  • Uphold school policies and procedures while fostering a positive learning environment
  • Manage behaviour according to the school's behaviour management policy
  • Support students' learning and development through engaging activities

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Quick thinking and adaptability to handle unexpected circumstances
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across different subject areas
  • A positive and proactive approach to supporting student learning

This is an excellent opportunity for newly graduates looking to gain valuable experience in education while making a positive impact on students' learning and development within a supportive and high-achieving school environment. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
