Cover Supervisor – Tameside Secondary School

Are you confident, adaptable, and looking for a stepping stone into the world of education? Teaching Personnel is seeking dynamic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Tameside. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or individuals with school-based experience to take on a vital role in the classroom without the responsibility of full-time teaching planning.

Role overview:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain on task

  • Support students with learning and answer basic subject-related questions

  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leaders regarding pupil progress and behaviour

  • Maintain a calm, consistent presence and promote a positive learning environment

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a school setting

  • Strong behaviour management and classroom control skills

  • A degree or equivalent qualification (subject specialisms welcomed but not essential)

  • A professional and confident attitude with the ability to adapt quickly

  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
