Cover Supervisor

Date posted : 04/12/19
£10 - 12 per hour + Additional Benefits

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you experienced working in schools, but would perhaps like to take the next step?

Do you have zero school based experience but would like to get into the education sector?

Maybe you have applied to do a PGCE but are still unsure how to actually lead a class?

Teaching Personnel are actively recruiting new cover supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Swansea, Neath and Llanelli that we are working closely with.

What does a cover supervisor do?

A cover supervisor is essentially someone who will cover a lesson in the absence of the regular class teacher. No qualifications are needed for this position, however it is vital that cover supervisors can demonstrate behaviour management, an ability to improvise and ensure the pupils are on task. Having classroom management skills is essential for this role.

Work will already be set for you to deliver to the class, so don’t worry if the subject isn’t your specialty! The school are not expecting you to be an expert- they just want you to demonstrate a great attitude to ensuring learning standards are met at all times.

With more roles than ever, we are considering applicants from all experiences, subject specialisms and ambitions. We can also work around your availability, so if you are studying, have childcare commitments, or are not looking for full time work, we can find something that suits you. Full time roles are available and if you would like to shadow someone experienced in action before comitting to the role yourself, then we can facilitate that too.

  • Full time and part time roles available
  • Applicants new to education are welcome to apply
  • Permanent contracts available after a probationary period
  • Immediate start date
  • Training and Support available

You will need to be registered with the EWC and have a child only DBS on the update system. However, all of this can be done through Teaching Personnel.

From December – July, the demand for cover supervisors in secondary schools soars! So we are actively recruiting several candidates.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
