Job description

Cover Supervisor – Stockport – Immediate Start

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Cover Supervisor on behalf of a secondary school in Stockport, with an immediate start available. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the classroom before progressing into teaching or education support roles.

Cover supervisors are responsible for delivering prepared lessons and supervising whole classes when teachers are absent. You’ll manage behaviour, distribute work, and ensure students stay engaged during cover periods.

Key details:

  • Full-time (Monday to Friday) during term time.

  • Work with a range of year groups and subjects (no planning required).

  • Support available from staff across departments and senior leaders.

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students in any capacity (school, youth work, tutoring, coaching etc.).

  • Strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills.

  • Confidence in behaviour management and flexible thinking.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
