Cover Supervisor

Location: Sheffield

Contract type: Flexible, 2-5 days per week

Secondary schools in the Sheffield area are seeking recent graduates for both daily and long-term assignments. If you feel passionately about transforming the lives of young people and are a flexible, creative thinker who can maximise pupil engagement, this could be the perfect role for you.

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor, you will be helping the school with its day-to-day classroom cover needs when the usual teacher(s) is unavailable. You will cover a range of lessons for pupils aged eleven upwards.

An overview of the role:

  • Flexible working, PAYE around your diary and further education needs
  • Leading preplanned lessons in a variety of subjects.
  • Having QTS is *not* required for this position, just a passion for education.
  • Fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the classroom.

As a cover supervisor you will need to take control of the classroom and be confident in tackling any challenging behaviour. You are not expected to be an expert in every field; however, you will be capable to lead a pre-planned lesson and ensure that children are continuing with their studies in the teacher’s absence. You do not need to have Qualified Teacher Status however experience working with children will be beneficial in this role.

Pay starts at £80 minimum for a 6-hour day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
