Secondary School Cover Supervisors

Salford | Full-Time & Flexible Assignments Available

We are looking to recruit confident and dependable Cover Supervisors to work across a number of secondary schools in the Salford area. These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience and support students’ learning during teacher absences.

This position is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who are keen to contribute to a busy secondary school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the supervision of whole classes, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the lesson content provided by the teacher. You will maintain a calm and purposeful classroom environment, following school behaviour policies and supporting students where needed.

Responsibilities Include

  • Supervising KS3 and KS4 classes during short-term teacher absence
  • Delivering clear instructions and overseeing completion of set work
  • Managing behaviour effectively and consistently
  • Encouraging positive engagement and maintaining focus
  • Reporting back to teaching or senior staff at the end of lessons
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
