Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools

Location: Bury
Contract: Full Time & Part Time Opportunities
Start Dates: ASAP or September

The Role

We are currently recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Bury, supporting lessons during planned and unplanned teacher absences. Opportunities are available for immediate starts, as well as for candidates seeking work from September.

This is an ideal role for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects
  • Supervise classes and maintain a positive, focused learning environment
  • Ensure students remain on task and follow school behaviour policies
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
  • Support the general day-to-day running of the school

About You

We’re keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Are confident leading a classroom of secondary-aged students
  • Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Are flexible, organised, and proactive
  • Can build positive relationships quickly with students and staff
  • Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
