We are currently recruiting a confident and proactive Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are considering a career in teaching, or for someone with experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and supervise classes during short-term teacher absences

  • Ensure students remain on task and engage with learning during cover lessons

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with the school’s behaviour policy

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement

  • Support pupils with their learning and encourage positive interactions in the classroom

  • Assist with administrative or supervisory duties as required within the wider school setting

 

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting (preferred but not essential)

  • Be calm, confident, and able to manage classroom dynamics effectively

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be adaptable and resilient, able to work independently and under pressure

  • Have a good standard of education (minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths)

  • Show a genuine interest in supporting the development and learning of secondary-aged students

  • Be reliable, enthusiastic, and willing to contribute to all aspects of school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
