We are delighted to be recruiting an enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisor to join the team at a thriving secondary school in the Poole area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and is looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons across a wide range of subjects—including PE. A keen interest in sport or previous coaching experience would be a bonus, but it is not essential.

Many previous Cover Supervisors have successfully progressed onto teacher training programmes after their time in post.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task

• Support students with the work provided by the class teacher or head of department

• Provide feedback on student behaviour, engagement, and progress to teaching staff

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies and procedures

• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, following the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policies
