Cover Supervisor - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor to work at one of our larger partner secondary schools that is located in the area of Orrell, Wigan.

Since returning in September this academic year, the school have identified the need for at least one Cover Supervisor to be permanently based at school. This 'On-site' Cover Supervisor will be employed to specifically provide classroom cover across the full subject range.

  • Full-time Cover Supervisor required immediately until at least January 2020.
  • The school wish to meet with interested candidates in the coming weeks.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons to students in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Complete support provided to the incoming member of staff.
  • Opportunity to be taken on beyond the initial outlined period dependent on performance.
  • You can expect to earn around £1200 a month.

This Cover Supervisor role is an ideal position for anyone who is considering a career as a teacher in the future and can be seen as the next natural step after completing your degree. This role is also suitable for candidates with previous experience as a Cover Supervisor.

As a Cover Supervisor working within our client Secondary school you will be covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher, and the work will be pre-set for you by the absent teacher. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all students are behaving appropriately, are engaged throughout the class and completing the work that has been set by the teacher. You will be employed on a temporary basis however will work at the school on a full-time basis.

The school seeking to appoint for this position has modern facilities and is popular within its local community. This secondary school operates a fair but firm behaviour policy which has proven successful in the last academic year, improving behaviour across the school. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils within our Secondary school is significantly higher than the national average and most pupils are of White British heritage.

The school is situated on the outskirts of Wigan but still offers excellent public transport links to the town centre and surrounding areas. If commuting by car then the school has on-site car parking and is just minutes away from the A58.
