Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Kirkham, Lancashire
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: £90 – £100
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

About the Role:
We are looking for a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team in Kirkham from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a real difference in a secondary school setting.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain on task and continue their learning in a positive, safe, and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to classes in the absence of their usual teacher.
  • Maintain good order and keep students engaged in their learning.
  • Support students in understanding tasks and encourage a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff about the lessons and student progress.

About You:
We are seeking someone who:

  • Has strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Enjoys working with young people and can build positive relationships.
  • Is resilient, adaptable, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Ideally has previous experience in a school or youth work setting (though training will be provided).
  • Holds a minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
