Cover Supervisor Wanted for Secondary School in Gosport

Are you looking for a flexible role in education? Our vibrant secondary school in Gosport, part of an academy trust, is seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our team on a flexible working contract starting at £90 a day. This role involves supervising pre-prepared activities in the short term or unplanned absence of the teacher, ensuring a safe and productive classroom environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervising pre-prepared activities in the short term/unplanned absence of the teacher.
  • Communicating to students the work set by the teacher.
  • Overseeing distribution of books, equipment, worksheets as directed by the teacher.
  • Ensuring that the classroom environment is safe, productive, tidy, and harmonious in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Keeping pupils motivated to stay on task with any pre-set exercises that their teacher has set.
  • Showing pupils the right steps to complete a task.
  • Providing any materials or tools needed to complete a pre-prepared task.
  • Managing pupil behaviour while tasks are being done.
  • Responding to any questions from pupils if they are unsure how to complete the tasks set.
  • Handling any emergencies in the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
