Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students continue to engage in productive learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Management: Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Implementing Lesson Plans: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and resources left by the absent teacher, maintaining continuity in students' learning.
  • Managing Student Behaviour: Uphold school policies and discipline procedures, effectively managing student behaviour to create a respectful and orderly classroom atmosphere.
  • Providing Support: Offer support and guidance to students as needed, responding to questions and providing assistance with tasks.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance and any significant incidents that occur during the lesson, reporting back to the appropriate staff members.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with teaching staff, administrators, and parents regarding any concerns or issues that arise during cover sessions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions closely.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting the learning journey of students.
