Cover Supervisor – Bury Secondary Schools

Location: Bury
Start Date: Immediate & September 2026 Opportunities
Contract: Full Time or Flexible Supply

We are recruiting professional and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Bury.

This role is ideal for experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, graduates, sports coaches, youth workers or individuals considering a career in teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences.
  • Ensure students remain on task and engaged with set work.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations.
  • Support learning across a variety of subjects.
  • Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

Requirements

  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged students.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional and adaptable approach.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
