Day-to-Day Cover Supervisor Opportunities – Immediate & September Start

Teaching Personnel is seeking strong, flexible, and reliable Cover Supervisors for day-to-day positions, starting as soon as possible and for September 2026.

This role involves being available on standby in the morning or on-call for bookings in secondary schools local to you. It’s an ideal opportunity for those considering a career in education, or anyone looking for flexible, rewarding work within schools.


The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and ensure a positive and productive classroom environment.

This position is based across North Manchester, Oldham, and Rochdale, so applicants must either live locally or be able to commute.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, focused learning environment
  • Support students with their work and respond to questions where needed
  • Liaise with school staff to ensure smooth lesson delivery
  • Assist with general school duties and administrative tasks as required
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with schools and Teaching Personnel

About You

  • A degree in any subject
  • Experience working with young people (education experience desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and leading a classroom
  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
