Classroom Supervisor
Job description
We're working with a welcoming secondary school in Rochdale that's looking to appoint a permanent Classroom Supervisor. If you're confident, organised and genuinely enjoy working with young people, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
You'll play an important part in the day-to-day life of the school, supervising classes during teacher absence, maintaining a positive learning environment, and helping students stay engaged with the work that's been set. Every day is different, which is exactly what makes the role rewarding.
What you'll be doing
- Supervising lessons across a range of subjects using pre-prepared work.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and creating an atmosphere where students can learn.
- Keeping pupils on task while building positive, professional relationships.
- Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress and any issues that arise.
- Supporting the wider school community and becoming a familiar, trusted face around the school.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, whether in education, youth work, coaching, childcare or a similar setting.
- Can communicate confidently with students, staff and parents.
- Remains calm under pressure and isn't afraid to take the lead.
- Brings energy, reliability and a good sense of humour to work.
- Believes that consistency, fairness and respect make all the difference.
Whether you're already working as a Classroom Supervisor, Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant, or you're considering a move into education after working in another people-focused role, we'd love to hear from you.
