Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a Secondary Alternative Provision in the Blackburn to support with the recruitment of a team of Cover Supervisors available for flexible cover needs.

  • Full time and part time Cover Supervisor positions available
  • Pay rate starts at £90+(dependant on experience)
  • Previous experience working in a Secondary school setting is preferred but not essential

In order to be successful in this role it is important that you are able to deliver pre-planned lessons confidently to classrooms of students of the age range 11-16. As this is an Alternative Provision the children will display signs of challenging behaviour and disengagement, therefore, managing student behaviour in a calm manner is essential.

Graduates and aspiring teachers are urged to apply for this exciting role, as it will strengthen a PGCE application in the future and provide applicants with the skill sets necessary to become an outstanding teacher of the future.

This role is perfect for anyone who has experience working alongside students in a coaching or tutoring background, has experience working as a Cover Supervisor or a Teaching Assistant or for teachers who are looking to work within a school setting without the usual responsibilities that are involved with teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
