Job description

Position: Cover Supervisor

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire

Start date: Varied start dates available

Hourly rate: £12.90 - £13.90

Teaching Personnel are the first point of call for many secondary schools in the Blackburn and surrounding areas. The current demand for Cover Supervisors is extremely high and schools require individuals who are happy to cover a mixture of subjects when the classroom teacher is absent.

If you are an individual who is considering a career in education and would like to build on your experience, or an individual with previous/current experience as a Cover Supervisor seeking local and continuous work, then this is the perfect opportunity for you. Our client schools require support up to KS4 and classes can be of up to 25 pupils.

Roles and responsibilities

  • KS3/KS4 Cover Supervision support
  • Ensuring pre-set work is complete when the class teacher is absent
  • Good behaviour and classroom management
  • Liaising with other staff members to discuss pupil behaviour, absence, safeguarding etc.
  • Following behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Previous or transferrable skills preferable; support worker, sports coach, care assistant
  • SEND/SEMH experience preferable; particularly ASC, ADHD and challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
