Core subject graduates required for Easter start in large inner city Manchester Primary school to work across Key Stage 2.
English/Mathematics and Psychology Graduates needed
Deliver intervention throughout Key Stage 2
Double up as a general class assistant
A large inner city Manchester Primary school have come exclusively to Teaching Personnel to do their Easter recruitment. The school are looking to employ a number of graduate teaching assistants to support throughout Key Stage 2 delivering specific intervention for small groups of identified children as well as supporting the teacher in a general capacity. The reason for these vacancies is that the current teaching assistants within the classes are going on to do their Teacher Training come September. Experience isn't essential as the school will provide in house training and continued professional development from the outset. The school want enthusiastic, sparky and pro-active graduates to inspire and interact with the children in engaging and fun lessons that are accessible to all abilities within the class. This school is a great platform to start a career in education with the Head Teacher having a consistent approach throughout the school and an open door policy with a view to supporting all staff to the best of her ability when required.
As you will be expected to deliver intervention to small groups of differing abilities being confidant and using 'proper English' is one of the Head's requests due to the percentage of EAL pupils within the school. This is a diverse school with a higher than average percentage of EAL and SEN pupils coming from a mixed local community. Although behaviour is said to be improving it is still currently described as 'challenging' in some classes so a positive behaviour policy has been put in place which will need to be followed by the successful candidates.
Job Highlights:
- Perfect platform to start a career in education
- Supportive head with open door policy
- Easily accessible from the city centre
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
