Job description

Full time hours working after October half term

Support groups of children initially in the AM across Y4 and then specifically in Maths and English Intervention groups (Read Write Inc. Phonics training or experience would be preferable)

A nurturing approach is preferable and someone who is committed to improving standards and building strong relationships

Are you a Primary Teaching Assistant/Specialist Support Assistant who is looking for a General TA role working alongside groups of children in the Y4 class? The role will be split into two across the working day; AM would be supporting small groups in Y4; PM would be supporting individual children, raising standards in Maths and English.

If the above role sounds like something you would be interested in and you have the relevant KS2 experience then please do not hesitate to continue reading about the role.

The school is located in the heart of Colne in a 'socially deprived' area and so the children arrive in school generally working below expected age related levels. The school has more than the National average children who attend with free school meals and special educational needs. The SENCO in school is keen to see potential Teaching Assistants to meet with her next week, week beginning 16th October 2017. The role will be explained further during this informal chat; however the role will include the support of a number of children who struggle to work independently without support and are falling behind in Maths and English! The SENCO is keen to appoint an individual who is academic and someone who is experienced in working alongside lower ability children.

This is a GOOD primary school who invest time into new staff through an induction programme. The school are looking to implement this for the role as it is expected that the position will continue at least until Xmas.

If you are interested in the above role and would like to apply, then please send your up to date CV or contact me on 01772 842155
