Job description

KS1 TEACHING ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITY

Teaching Personnel is currently working in partnership with a welcoming infant school in Southampton that is seeking an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive mainstream primary school while working closely within the school’s dedicated SEN provision room. The role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning in a structured, nurturing and engaging environment.

The successful candidate will bring previous experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and will be confident providing both academic and emotional support. Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff, the Teaching Assistant will play a key role in delivering tailored activities, supporting small-group learning and helping pupils develop their confidence, communication skills and independence.

The provision space offers a calm and supportive setting where pupils can benefit from personalised learning approaches, sensory resources and targeted interventions. The school is looking for someone who is patient, proactive and passionate about making a positive difference in the early stages of a child’s education.

This role would suit a Teaching Assistant who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and who thrives in an environment where every day brings opportunities to support progress, celebrate achievements and help children reach their potential.
