Job description
Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Primary Schools | Fareham
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support primary schools across Fareham and the surrounding areas. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), both 1:1 and in small groups.
As an LSA, you will help pupils develop confidence, independence, and engagement in their learning, while supporting teachers in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
We welcome applicants with previous SEN experience or transferable skills from backgrounds such as childcare, youth work, sports coaching, care work, or mentoring.
Key responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
- Supporting small group learning and targeted interventions
- Assisting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
- Helping pupils remain engaged, focused, and confident in their learning
- Promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
The ideal candidate will
- Have experience working with children or young people
- Have knowledge or understanding of SEN (desirable but not essential)
- Be patient, adaptable, and supportive
- Be confident working independently and as part of a team
- Be passionate about helping children reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
