Classroom Support - Chichester

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school catering to pupils with complex needs. The school is based in the Chichester area and has recently taken on new pupils and as a result, require additional support staff to assist in the classroom. The pupils have varied needs but will include:

  • Autism
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety issues

The school we work with use a differentiated curriculum to help support the students through their specific needs, that have lead them out of mainstream schooling. The schools encourage a very close pupil and teacher relationships, to help aide pupils through their education more efficiently whilst also encouraging moral and social support.

The School successful candidates will be placed in have phenomenal grounds which includes a forest, football pitch, swimming pool and plenty of outdoor area. The picturesque school is an all boys school for Behavioural and Autistic pupils, where candidates will be working closely on a 1:1 basis with the pupils.

The Role:

Hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday.

The salary will vary between £270-£360 per week depending on the successful candidates experience.

The Candidate:

Ideal candidates will need to drive and have access to a vehicle. Candidates that don't meet this criteria can still apply, as we will likely work with school local to you.

Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:

  • Childhood psychology
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Care worker
  • Challenging behaviour within family
  • Ex-police force

Applicants will be working on 1:1 basis with pupils throughout the day, escorting them between classes as well as supporting them socially and with their education.

Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.
