Children's Pastoral Support- South Shields

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a learning and pastoral assistant for a partner school based in South Shields. The role is full time and to commence ASAP, with a strong possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The school prides itself on creating a nurturing and stimulating environment. They are looking for someone to be committed and enthusiastic in order to establish positive relationships with students and offer support to regulate their feelings

The school day is from 8.30am-3.30pm. You will be supporting Secondary aged pupils with a wide range of social, emotional and mental health needs. A typical day will involve supporting pupils with their emotional well-being, enabling pupils to access academic work and helping to grow their self esteem and confidence.

Pupils at the school have a range of complex needs which include behaviours that can challenge, learning disabilities, SALT, foetal alchohol syndrome, ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression. Some pupils are looked after children, living in foster care and come from difficult backgrounds that involve alcohol/ drug abuse and traumatic experiences. Experience working with SEMH and holding a Team Teach qualification is desirable but not necessary.

Teaching Personnel can offer competitive rates of pay from £55-75 per day. Daily pay rate will be negotiated for the right candidate, as well as the opportunity to up skill your professional development by utilising our CPD Academy. You will also be supported by our specialist SEND Team who all come from backgrounds in education and knowledge of the current market.
