If so, Teaching Personnel could have the ideal role for you!

I am working closely with a client School that is based in Scarborough, that caters for 2-16 year old students with a range of additional and complex Special Educational Needs. The School has recently opened a new classroom in order to provide education to a further 11 students. Classes are usually sized between 6 and 10, with at least 1 Teaching Assistant to support. The School provides education for students that have a vast range of SEN, which includes Autism, Non-Verbal, PMLD, SLD and Physical Disabilities. The School need staff to work at short notice for day to day, medium and long term placements, so being local to Scarborough is key.

Working with Teaching Personnel will offer you the flexibility to choose when and how long you agree to working placements for. Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 days availability each week. As the ideal candidate, you should have recent working experience in a position as either an SEN Teaching Assistant or as a Child Care Worker or Practitioner. Personality wise, the School looks for staff that are energetic, charismatic and confident in their ability to communicate and build trusting relationships with the children, and are able to get stuck into the different activities that the School offers. Although the students are up to 16 years old, most of the classes follow a tailored lesson plan, according to the EYFS curriculum.

If you have undertaken any CPD courses, such as Moving and Handling, Team Teach or PILLARS, Autism Awareness or Safeguarding, be sure to mention this on your CV!
